good luck, tookster

my eldest nephew andrew is off to europe tomorrow, arriving first in barcelona. i can’t believe this kid who used to secretly put matchbox cars in his underwear for safe keeping is now striking off on his own. i’m so proud of him.

and just look at how handsome he is.

(back off ladies, he’s still my little tookie bear.)

it’s moving day!

taking a small break to throw out my back and discard half of my possessions that i’m too lazy to move.

updates to follow, possibly with photos of the xrays of my broken body!

i love this site! dubbed The Craig’s List for Creatives, caravan helps creative types find sublets or swaps in a number of different cities, but without the hazard of having to possibly swap with or rent from a <gasp> finance wonk or a yoga instructor who uses an old massage table as a bed.

so if you’re feeling restless and want to stir your creative juices in another city for a little while, check out what sort of swaps or sublets might be available. there’s a good chance there are some kindred brains in another city just waiting to do the same thing.

registration is free and only exists to weed out the rabble. actionpotential readers’ll pass right through though.

jetblue

i’m a huge fan of anything that’s all-you-can-verb, but i prefer the ones that favor the slim-of-hip. that’s exactly what i love about jet blue’s either very generous or very desperate promotion which allows you to fly to over 57 cities as many times as you like for a month in september. all you have to do is book your trip 3 days in advance and show up with your gaunt ass and voila! you’re in NY, LA, SF, and other cities where skinny jeans still take all.

see you guys in the airport bar!

some people will go almost anywhere for a visit, particularly if there’s a comped hotel room involved. the creative folks at gothenburg’s Creators Inn by Elvine know that and want your creative brains to come stay for free at their hotel—and enrich their city.

check out their digs and apply for a stay. just don’t expect a heart-shaped jacuzzi.
